CoGAT Test Prep – Grades 1, 3, 5 & 6

The CoGAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) plays an important role in placement for C-Level and Honors Programs in Marlboro Township School District. Our CoGAT Preparation Program helps students strengthen the skills and reasoning abilities needed to perform confidently on this assessment.

What Students Learn

Over a series of focused sessions, students receive guided practice in all three CoGAT batteries — Verbal, Quantitative, and Non-Verbal. They work through targeted activities, strategies, and problem-solving techniques that improve thinking speed, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning.

Topics covered include:

• Verbal and picture analogies

• Number series and quantitative relationships

• Figure analysis, classification, and pattern reasoning

• Practice questions for all test formats

Mock Test + Real Practice Experience

Each student also completes a full CoGAT mock test, helping them become familiar with the structure, timing, and style of questions they will see on the actual exam. This builds test-taking confidence and reduces anxiety on test day.
